The Newsletter of the West Highland Steamer Club






							To many members the main benefit of Club membership is the twice yearly Club Newsletter. Published in October and April this relates in great detail both the various topics concerning the Company and its operations that have appeared in the local and national media and a detailed description of the movements of each ship in the previous six month period. Researched by Ian McCrorie and written by Derek Crawford it attempts to provide a blow by blow account of anything and everything concerned with CAL MAC. In addition to the text each Newsletter also includes a large collection of illustrations, chosen by Hamish Stewart, that reflect both the main events of the period and a look at everyday life in the fleet. All the photographs are supplied by Club members and most are available for purchase. In addition recent Newsletters have included a selection of historical photographs from the recent past taken by the late Jim Aikman Smith, our former Secretary and Newsletter editor. To give a flavour of what members receive there is reproduced below from the October 1999 Newsletter the movements of CLANSMAN from March until August 1999. The Newsletter text will appear shortly
